About Fly Iowa

Fly Iowa is Iowa Aviation Promotion Group’s signature event. Fly Iowa was first promoted by the Iowa Department of Transportation in 1991 with the Iowa City Municipal Airport chosen as the site of the first event. The event moves each year to a different host airport and has been held each year, with the exception of 1998 and 2020.

Fly Iowa is intended to be Iowa’s Air Fair, to showcase the best in Iowa Aviation and local airports. It is always a FREE admission event, always includes an aerobatic air show, and usually includes educational displays, a flight breakfast, safety seminars, and youth aviation activities.
